Battlefront 2 Non-Diegetic UI

This was a student project where I made a non-diegetic UI to the game Star Wars Battlefront 2. It contains a map, healthbar, controls and weapon and ammunition. Since this is a multiplayer game where the player needs full concentration on whats in front of them. I decided to put each element at the bottom of the screen. I placed weapon and ammunition right beside the healthbar so its easier for the player to see both at the same time

It also contains a radial menu inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn. I placed it in the middle of the screen because in FPS games players usually are focused on the middle of the screen

And last it contains an Emote screen

When doing the minimap I wanted to make it really clear for the player. Enemies and allies is not only colorcoded but have different symbols to better help players who suffers from colorblindness. It also contains a orange bar in the corner to symbolise where sounds comes from to help players with decreased hearing

  • Better understanding on overlays in Figma
  • Better use of color

What I could have done better

  • A more artistic minimap
  • More playertesting
