This is the second gameproject I was involved with at Futuregames. My mainfocus was lead designer, gamedesign and leveldesign. I also did the GDD and was responsible for our playtesting session at Futuregames in Skellefteå.


My contributions

Gamedesign

  • Lead in deciding which mechanics used
  • Lead in designing the mechanics used in the game
  • Working together with the UX designer Emma Höggren to implement UI work
  • Working together with Lead programmer Eddy Grootenboer and Project owner Gustav Englund in deciding and creating weekly tasks in Jira
  • Creating a progression map for the whole game
  • Designing the controller scheme
  • Creating the GDD

Leveldesign

  • Creating paper prototypes for level 2 and 3
  • Blocking out level 2 and 3 in Unity
  • Creating paper prototypes of puzzles for different mechanics that could be utilized by other leveldesigners
  • Helped out with improving the onboarding of the beginning tutorial
  • Helped out members who struggled with Unity

What did I learn?

  • Working with Perforce

What could I have done better?

  • Reaching out earlier to see if any team member needed help
  • Playtest at an earlier stage
  • Make my paperprototypes a little prettier so they would be easier for teammembers to understand
  • Be more clear when describing the mechanics to the programmers
